  • it's been raining for the past couple of days. not just off and on, but a steady rain fall. i LOVE it. it's so relaxing to stop and watch.

    this morning, i went outside and saw a doe with her 2 fawns walking around the daniels' neighborhood. they were out in the open and when a truck drove by, they started scampering, but then realized that the truck wasn't out to get them as it passed by. so awesome...

  • i don't understand coffee drinkers and i don't understand beer drinkers... and i'm talking about those people that have to have at least one cup of coffee in the morning, otherwise they aren't fully awake and they need their caffeine fix. or those people who are in the drive-thru at starbucks at the crack of dawn.

    and i'm talking about those people with beer in their fridge and that's about the only non-alcoholic drinks in their refrigerator. or those people who go out and party and drink lots of beer.coffee and alcohol can get really expensive ! and i really don't like the smell of either.

    i mean, i have friends and family who drink coffee and beer avidly, so i don't have anything against them... i just don't understand it is all.

  • i was reading about marriages and how people are so into the wedding and not the marriage itself. that is why the divorce rate is so high because they're putting all this work and energy into the wrong thing right from the beginning. little girls dream about their wedding from the time they even know what a wedding is. i'm so glad i didn't really fantasize about mine at all. and i leave you with a quote from c.s. lewis which explains it so clearly and precisely:

  • why are fires so mesmerizing? and why do i loathe mosquitoes so much?

  • today, we went to goldstar chili because they were having $1.19 cheese coneys (regularly $1.89 each) and ordered 6 coneys with a medium fountain drink. the total was $9.26 and they somehow gave us 9 coneys... so basically the coneys were an extra $0.16 cheaper each and our fountain drink was free... score !
